How to actually Get things done (Kaizen)

So I recently read a book which is a Japanese self-help book Kaizen, it was just like Ikigai, the main lesson from the book was completing small tasks consistently gives you a better result than trying to achieve a large chunk of your project in one go, which ultimately burns your energy resulting in you failing to complete your project and procrastinating or continuous improvement.

In this article, I will try to explain to you the Kaizen lessons in an easier way.

We all have big projects we want to tackle someday. What is stopping us is the size and complexity of that project or else may be trying to achieve large success in that project in less time which ultimately lets us burn out and give up.

To tackle this, I use a method that really helps me to actually get things done and work on my dream projects such as creating this website.

The first thing you want to do is to brainstorm your project from the basics, like why I want to do this in the first place, what will the success in the project will look like, and what is the first small step I can do towards achieving the project.

Brainstorming your project will help you understand the project better and know if you actually want to do it.

While brainstorming divide your project into different parts, if the project is creating a website, I can divide it into either different pages like home, about us, or I can divide it into different processes like designing, coding, content writing, etc.

This is the good thing about this, it's too flexible, I am sharing some guidelines to guide you in this journey of accomplishing big projects, but you have to create your own plan about how you want to go about it.

After dividing it into different sections or parts, you can then subdivide it into smaller tasks, this task shouldn't take your whole day, at most 2-3 hours.

For example, in designing, I can subdivide it into navbar, the home page, about us page, etc also I can be more specific like designing the hero section, my story section, etc.

Now it may seem a little complex to you, but once you start dividing a large chunk of tasks into small tasks, you will start seeing relief and hope that you may complete the project.

By dividing and actually seeing progress by completing small tasks, it will act as a fuel to keep going and completing the new task.

So the key here is to divide your project into as small and easy tasks as possible and to be consistent in actually completing this small task.

You can even set datelines for each task which will further help you to avoid procrastination, remember the datelines should be logical and you need to give enough time to yourself for completing the task.

Kaizen isn't this only, I shared a small yet important lesson from the books, you can read the book if you want, personally, only the first 2-3 chapters are important, and others are just explaining ways you can apply the techniques in different aspects of life.
